On the highway...

Stage and studio have remained two different animals through Portal's history. Performance gear is pretty universal, however. Here's what we like.

Top Hat Amps

Ross swears by Top Hat amplifiers, and we've got to admit, his sounds pretty damn good, and it might just be the most solid piece of gear ever made.

Epek Percussion

Bill is currently awaiting a custom set from Epek, but his new snare sounds unbelievable. You'll have to hear it live to really understand what we mean.

Fender

Kenton can't say enough about his baritone guitar, the Fender Sub-Sonic. It's a solid piece of gear, and has an unparalleled tone for percussive rhythm lines (a la Severance. The vintage Fender Bassman amp is also a favourite of both Kenton and Ross. Fourty years of technological development has not yielded a better tone.

Warwick

Kevin plays Warwick basses, on stage and in the studio. The Corvette five string is the favourite for the lower registers.
