On the down...
Even in our downtime, we can't seem to leave politics, religion, and beaurocracy behind. Thankfully there are some modern day philosophers who aren't afraid to bring a little levity to the ridiculous web of garbage we're all slowly drowning in.
John Stewart
Comedy Central's The Daily Show with John Stewart may be one of the most lucid, non-partisan news programs on television, which is a sad commentary on the state of journalism, because it's a comedy show. Well worth a watch. Oh, and the Indecision 2004 DVD comes out on Tuesday, June 28th!
Bill Maher
If you find truth, freedom of expression, and common sense refreshing... well, you're an unfortunate minority in this day and age. But you may also be a fan of Bill Maher's "politically incorrect" attitude. His last HBO Special, Victory Begins at Home is an absolute must see.
Chris Rock
Never Scared was one of the most refreshingly candid and analytical comedy routines in years. Chris Rock has really come into his own, not only as a comdedian, but as a man with a mind, and one who's not afraid to use it.
Trey Parker & Matt Stone
I wonder how sick these two are of always being mentioned together? Either way, they do great work, and have an uncanny ability to hilight and ridicule just about every stupid decision anyone with power has ever made. Team America: World Police is definitely worth a rent if you haven't seen it yet.
