On the record...
There are a few products and companies that we've come to consider indespensible over the last few years. Here are a few.
Epek Percussion
Let the sponsorships begin! Bill's new kit was unveiled, along with Portal's new material, on March 31st - killer solo by the way, Bill - and it sounds phenomenal! Check the Epek Artists page soon and frequently to see Bill's profile and hear his solo.
Steinberg
Portal has been using Steinberg products since its inception in 2000. For pre-production, post-production, and everything in between, independent musicians could not ask for a better collection of software.
Alesis
Alesis products have been a mainstay in Portal's home studios since the beginning. Alesis compressors, monitors, and consoles have been used on each of Portal's three albums to date.
AMD
The Lab, Digital Junkies, and Resonance Industries are all Athlon 64 equipped. Each of Portal's three albums have relied on AMD's pocket-book friendly, reliable technology in one fashion or another.
Antec
Antec makes perhaps the quietest chasis on the planet, ideal for the home studio setting. The Lab, Digital Junkies, and Resonance Industries are all Antec equipped.
Focusrite
We were lucky enough to secure the use of a Focusrite ISA 430 for some of the guitar tracks on Element (special thanks again to Phil at Powersound), and I won't do a project again without.
PC Audio Labs
PC Audio Labs is jam packed with wonderful advice for independent musicians. They also have the best prices on a variety of invaluable tools - both the software and hardware you'll need to finish your projects.
Western Digital
Two weeks after we submitted the master and artwork for A Taste of Things to Come..., the studio's principle hard drive failed. What timing! Since then, we've lost data on three other drives. To date, Western Digital drives are the only ones that haven't let us down!
